VISUAL TESTING VT
It is a method of Non Destructive Testing, which consists of a direct detection of dimensional deviation, flaws and inconsistencies which could have appeared during the construction or the exploitation of an object. The method involves visual examination and a potential technical aid with the use of optical gear i.e. magnifying glass, mirror, or more complex endoscope, weld gauge etc. Due to its simplicity and safety, the method can find application in a wide range of tests.
PENETRANT TESTING PT
It is a method of Non Destructive Testing, which allows a direct detection of open surface discontinuities i.e. cracks delaminations or pores. It uses a penetrant which enters the cracks, then a powder developer that removes the excess of the penetrant, simultaneously indicating all discontinuities. The penetrants vary in terms of sensitivity and the testing methods used.
MAGNETIC-PARTICLE TESTING MT
It is a method of Non Destructive Testing, which allows a direct detection of open- and sub-surface discontinuities. The method can be applied only on objects made of a ferromagnetic substance, because, as the mean of testing, it uses a proper magnetic field strength and a magnetic particle. By reason of the two, we obtain a contrastive indication of all discontinuities, what allows us to assess the object. The Magnetic-particle Testing can also be performed on objects with a paint coating up to 40μm
ULTRASONIC TESTING UT
It is a method of Non Destructive Testing, which consists of leading into the object a stream of proper parameters ultrasound, by means of a piezoelectric-transducer-head. The weave reverberates from the discontinuous surface, what is visible on the screen of the ultrasonic flaw detector. The method allows the detection of internal flaws, as well as open- and sub-surface discontinuities.
RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING RT
It is a method of Non Destructive Testing which detects the objects inner discontinuities (both volume and flat) through a high-energy beam of ionic radiation. After the scanning, a two dimensional shadow images of the discontinuities are displayed on the radiograph, thus the shape and size of the flaws can be easily assessed.
